Introduction
I purchased an RTX 3090 back in 2020. Five years later, I have finally decided to upgrade my GPU. The 7900 XTX appealed to me as the most cost effective upgrade. As always, I have benchmarked the two cards and I present the results in this article.

Benchmarks
I like to run built in benchmarks since they are repeatable and easily comparable across hardware. I also enjoy running older benchmarks at 4K and 8K. For this comparison, I have selected several titles spanning two decades.
Results
The table below shows the average FPS for the two cards at 4K and 8K resolution. The list is sorted by year of release of the benchmark. Overall, the 7900 XTX is around 25% faster in the selected titles.
